UPDATES:

All brawn and no brains. Plenty of class though.

It has been an action packed summer, and while we did not host many local meets over the last two months, we have certainly been out and about.

The highlight of the season had to be MGFest which, although it is probably covered in great detail elsewhere, we would like to add our perspective.

We teamed up with Herts Wheels for the Fest, pooling our resources where possible. To that end we enjoyed success in the Tug'o'war competition in the regional challenges. We would like to say it was a difficult challenge, but it wasn't really - bring it on for next year! It is a shame that we did not fare so well in the intellectual challenges, but we are working on that for next year.

Our crowning achievement was the regional car display where we won first prize with our audio visual 'car lot experience'! A great deal of effort went into making the display work, and we would like to thank all those who took part, and let us decorate their treasured and polished cars with 'for sale' signs. Despite the comedy slogans, and unrealistic prices, it was surprising how many people actually asked if the cars were for sale! Perhaps the display was too good……or maybe it was just the heat!

Well, we hope that you all had a good Christmas and enjoyed 2007.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Thanks to those who made it to the national xmas natter, held in Abingdon. It was a big surprise for our region, with both Sean and Jon winning awards in recognition for their involvement in the F Register in 2007. It is the members that keep us motivated to do the work that we do, so a big thanks to all of you as well.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket We finished off the year by joining the MGCC Anglia Centre on their 5th Norfolk Riviera Run on the 27/12/07. If you didn't manage to make this years event we strongly recommend that you pencil it into your diary for next year, as it is always a fantastic way to blow off the Christmas cobwebs, and it is guaranteed to be better than Christmas TV!

The F Register group met up in advance, for a quick convoy to the starting point of the event at Sandringham. We parked up with an assortment of MG's from across the ages - it was really good to see the old classics brought out of the garage for a winter event.

After a bacon buttie and coffee to wake us up, we assembled to our cars to depart on the 50 mile tulip rally to our destination at Gressenhall museum of Norfolk rural life. It was an excellent run, down some of the twistiest country roads, but it did little for the cars appearance. All the cars were pristine in the morning, but by the time they reached the destination they had all been re-sprayed into that rare MG colour known as Norfolk Mud Beige (code NMB ). The important thing though was the weather - we were fortunate to get some top down action on the last days of 2007!

After we had parked the cars we refreshed ourselves on some of Norfolks finest local produce, and then toured the museum. Amongst many interesting things, this included a fine selection of restoration stationery steam engines from the past. It makes you appreciate the many years of development to get to our K series! It was a well organised event by the Anglia Centre, and it was good to catch up with friends over the Christmas period.

Keep your eyes peeled on the forum and the website for our regional events into 2008, this year is going to be a good one!
Also there is some news on the development of the region. Building on the success of our partnership at MGFest (and the fact that we always go to each others meets) we are looking at a long term partnership with the Herts Wheels region to start in the new year. It is early stages yet, so keep your eyes peeled on the forum and our websites: The 'Guns & Roadsters' group is on its way….

Know of a good pub in Norfolk, Suffolk or Cambs?

This year we want to get out and about across the region - especially when the top down weather returns - so we can do some nice country runs!

If you know of any good pubs / restaurants / venues, or have heard of a good one and want to check it out, let us know. As reps we will do the organising - so no need to worry about the difficult stuff. We are setting up a list of pubs to visit on our forum. If you can help please let us know by adding details on there bly clicking here.
